New Fabrics - Hard to Resist

We have some new fabrics in - they are wonderful:

So cute, all those little hedgehogs.

Clubs and Classes

The photos above all come from various clubs and classes that took place last year.  It seems strange saying "last year" because it seems such a long time ago already but was only a couple of weeks in actual fact!

The top one is Bernie's completed Christmas Storm at Sea wall hanging.  It turned out wonderfully, but don't ask Bernie because she doesn't agree!

The middle is Anita's hanging which was inspired by the work of Sue Spargo - if you haven't seen any of Sue Spargo's work you should check it out - Amazing (to quote a Strictly judge).  Anita bought it because she had got this far and didn't know where to go with it from here - it nearly came home with me, it is lovely.  We did setting in of circles in Patchwork Club and that was Anita's starting point - it just grew from there.

The next one is Ruth's Christmas Table Runner.  Ruth is new to Patchwork and this is her first project. Ruth came to the Christmas Table Runner workshop, and then returned on one of our working groups to finish it off.  All ready for next Christmas now!

The new brochure is ready and at the printers as we speak.  If you would like a copy emailing over to you in the meantime, just give us a call - 01722 554466

This is the Patchwork and Quilting Club's and Working Groups Christmas lunch.  Twenty lovely ladies turned out on a chilly December Saturday for a traditional Christmas lunch, which was well provided by the Cathdral Hotel.  We had a lovely time, thanks to all who supported the day.  Party hats were optional!

Pea Green coat

Here's the lovely Hannah from Ann's morning dressmaking class modelling her lovely green coat that she made - she looks really happy to be doing it doesn't she?  It was lined and looked really professional, and the colour was amazing.  I should maybe have moved her from under the machine acessories sign though - Hannah does not come with any machine unfortunately for you.  That would be a good deal wouldn't it?  Buy a machine and get a dress maker included!

Better still - buy a machine and come and learn how to do your own dress making - now that we can do!

Tuesday 7 January 2014

Seem to have a little backlog of photos from before Christmas - so let's have a catch up shall we?

Jill Carter held a Dorset Button workshop before Christmas - here they all are, working hard:

And some of the results too, the photos really do not do them justice, they looked wonderful.
Jill is back with us this year again - if you are interested in booking a course come in and see us.

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.  Didn't it go quickly?  All that work and preparation and then it is over in a flash.  We have already had customers in the shop looking for supplies for next year's Christmas projects!!  Hard to believe I know.

We are working hard on the new class brochure, which should be due for release over the coming weeks all being well, so do let us know if you would like a copy.  The Christmas decorations have come down and we are now in full Sale mode.  If you are looking to invest in a new machine, now might be the time to come in and see us.  All craft fabrics have 10% off and Christmas fabrics have 20%.
There are quite a few of the dress making fabrics on sale at the moment too - anywhere from 20% - 25%.

Happy New Year and here's to a creative year.
